The Biloba Project has begun its operational phase and is now entering its final phase.
In mid-December, the first 200 shrubs were planted on the portion of the land adjacent to one of our operating sites, which will contribute to the creation of a true green lung that will allow us to reduce the carbon footprint generated by our production activity
An initiative that Olians Plast has developed in collaboration with the Bachelor’s Degree in "Environment and Sustainable Management of Natural Resources" of the University of Camerino and the Projectfin which saw students involved in the main phases of the project (preliminary and planning), thanks to which the land was mapped and tree species with the greatest capacity for CO2 capture were identified and could better adapt to the target area.
UNICAM has estimated that, when fully operational, the Biloba Project will allow a total potential absorption capacity of about 59 tons of CO2 per year; equivalent to approximately 25% of the current emissions generated by the company’s activities.
This project, starting point of an intense collaboration and mutual exchange of know-how between university and company, in addition to allowing the efficiency of our carbon footprint has the objective of creating an area usable by citizens and the world of education, It will be the setting for events to raise awareness of sustainability and green economy.
